Virtual Pilates Empowerment Summit (PES)
22 - 23 October 2022
PES is an experience designed to enhance personal growth and expand your Pilates expertise. This first-ever virtual summit offers unique sessions from leading industry experts that you won’t find anywhere else! There will be two sessions in each time slot to choose from - 20 in all. If you can't make a session, or there's a slot where you want BOTH sessions- you can simply request a recording and view it over the next month!
Attending Virtual PES is an amazing opportunity to re-engage and become current in your certification. You can earn all 14 of your CECS at one time to renew!
How will it work?
If you are expired 3 months or more you need to commit to Learn Moreing for 14 CECS during this event. The late fee will be waived and you will only have to pay the renewal fee of €69,95.
There will be 2 sessions in each time slot to choose from - 20 in all! If you can't make a session, or there's a slot where you want BOTH sessions- you can simply request a recording and view it over the next month!

Faqs
How much do sessions cost?
Sessions are ala carte. You need to Learn More for each session individually. The one-hour masterclasses are €40 each. You will earn 1 Peak Pilates CEC.
Two-hour workshops are €95. You will learn 2 Peak Pilates CECs.
Who is presenting?
We have a great lineup of very exceptional and well-known presenters: Blossom Leilani Crawford, Cherry Herzog, Courtney Weis, Jillian Hessel, Kathy Corey, Lori Coleman Brown, Michael Fritzke, Pamela Garcia, Pat Guyton, Ton Voogt, Trey Fry, & Zoey Trap!
Do I have to be Peak Pilates® Certified to attend?
No -- our conventions are open to everyone!
How do I Learn More?
Click on the session you wish to attend and the session will be added to your cart. Continue to make your session selections and when complete, check out!
What if I can’t make the day or time?
You’re in luck. We are recording all sessions. If you Learn More for a session whether or not you attend, you will get a link to the recording dropped right into the course on Monday, October 24th. This will be active for 30 days.
What do I do after I Learn More?
Please open your workshop and complete the waiver and read the Welcome letter. CECs will NOT be awarded unless these mandatory steps are completed
How long will recordings of sessions be available for?
Viewing will be available for 30 days before expiration. No extensions will be granted. All sessions must be watched within this time frame.
Can I sign up for 2 sessions at the same time?
Yes, you can attend one or none and instead use the recorded option.
What if I don’t have the necessary equipment?
Observation is invaluable. You can participate as much as you can, or simply choose to observe and take notes.
How do I receive my CECs after the event?
Your CECs will automatically drop into your PeakU account following the event. However, you must complete course requirements of opening and reading the Welcome Letter so you know how to prepare for your course and you must complete the waiver.
Does attending the PES automatically renew my certification?
No. You must complete the renewal within PeakU when you've gained your 14 CECs. The late fee is waived if you attend this event and renew. If your certification is expired and you would like to use your CECs to renew your certification, pleae contact us at education@peakpilates.eu
What is the refund policy?
No refunds will be issued. All sessions will be recorded and you will have access for 30-days after the live session.
What is the Kick Off Master Class?
The Kick Off Master Class is a Peak Pilates® tradition! And it’s free! This themed mat class will be team taught by Peak Pilates® Master Classes. This years theme is "Kick It"! Expect lots of side kick variations! Look for the link for this in your Welcome Module. The first 300 to log in will be admitted. Friday, October 22 from 00.00-01.00 Central European Time. This session will not be recorded.
What is the Cocktail Reception?
This is another Peak Pilates® tradition. Every PES we have hosted guest speaker who share their wisdom, experience, and insights into our Pilates history and the Elders they have worked with. So, fix a drink and relax! This year's honored speaker is Blossom Leilani Crawford who has studied under both Romana and Kathy Grant. Sunday, October 23, starting at 01.30 Central European Time. This session is limited to the first 300 who log on and will not be recorded.

Chair Challenge
Join Pam for a powerful, fun-filled chair class combining exercises from Chair, Mat and Reformer- all done on the chair! Everyone can do this, as you will be given options for success. Chair classes are an opportunity to offer another type of group equipment class on your schedule, so come on get new inspiration for your chair.

Before the Hundred
Kathy Grant developed a vocabulary of warm-up exercises that came before starting the traditional Pilates mat work exercises. These were known as 'Before the Hundred' and are the building blocks to doing the traditional Pilates exercises and are the true heart of Kathy's work.
The exercises have a huge stylistic range but can be easily assimilated into your teaching. Before the Hundred includes warm-up movements that will mobilize your joints, deeply strengthen your abdominals, and enhance your body awareness. After this workshop you will have a new tool kit to get in tune with your body.

,Bend it on the Barrel-Spine Corrector!
Don't let your spine correctors gather dust in the corner! Instead make the barrel your favorite piece of equipment by exploring the use of the “curved mat” to support healthy extension patterns and open the entire body. Learn to teach an entire session as well as incorporate sections into Part C Individual Needs as you explore both old and new exercise variations on the spine corrector. Enjoy smart sequencing and progression that build toward full backbends.

Building Functional Balance within Pilates
Functional balance is a benefit of the method. The definition of functional balance is the ability to adapt to situations whereby the body can maintain a steady position to avoid a fall. Balance improves when the student is offered safe exercises to improve proprioception. Pilates offers balance opportunities for the advanced student. For clients who are less nimble these exercises are avoided for safety. Including an appropriate level within a session or class adds to our tools. This includes progression, rehabilitation and safe protocols for active aging. Clients enjoy the challenge.

The Teaching Legacy of Carola Trier: Reformer
Carola Trier was a dancer, acrobat & roller skater and contortionist of German descent. She was the very ?rst student of Joseph Pilates to open her own body conditioning studio & Joe personally supervised the building of all of Carola's apparatus. This workshop presents a historical perspective of Carola's contribution to the body of Joe's work & includes a presentation of specialty exercises on the Reformer, & signature innovations Carola made to the work that should be included in every Pilates teacher's repertoire!

Pilates for Golfers
Whether you are a weekend golfer or PGA player, the game of golf is demanding. It requires strength, stretch, control and precision at every stage of the game. In this workshop we will address the specific movement patterns needed during each part of the swing and the most common injuries. Join us and experience how you can improve your players performance from tee to green using Pilates, Spiraldynamik, and Pilates based exercises.

Ladder Barrel: From Classic to Contemporary
Discover a new and creative program designed for the Ladder Barrel. This course explores movements through flexion, extension, side bending and rotation to add a dynamic and challenging program for the whole body. The Ladder Barrel offers a unique challenge for the body with dimensional movement for all levels of fitness.

Kathy Grant's Cats & Beyond
Kathy Grant loved cats and loved the way they moved. They inspired her to make up many different exercises based on their movements. This workshop will explore all of Kathy's "cats" and how Kathy used them within the traditional Pilates framework. We will discuss how the principles, imagery and skills of the “cats” can transfer to other Pilates exercises both on and off the apparatuses. These exercises are a wonderful way to warm up a group of students, assess a new client's spinal movement patterns and stretch without tension.

Your Bunions and Your Body
The way your feet meet the ground is important. Bunions and bunionettes affect your base of support affecting balance, strength and whole body posture. Lori will present bunion basics including relevant anatomy with a foot model. She will offer some creative visual imagery to inspire embodiment for control. This session will inform anybody with feet even if they don’t have bunions. Practice exploring your feet through a Pilates workout and feel how attention to them affects your whole body and mind.

Push Through to Power
Why should I take this class?
The rib to scapula connection is one that is often misunderstood, poorly communicated and cued, and this workshop will give you great new tools for bringing this connection to life with your students. Additionally, you will gain fresh, new inspiration from a class design that never leaves the Push Through Bar!
At the completion of this workshop attendees will:

Kathy Grant Variations
This workshop will be a “tour” of Kathy Grant exercises on Pilates Equipment. There will be a few exercises on each piece of equipment with an emphasis on Reformer. Learn fun Kathy Grant cues, or emphasis in different Pilates exercises and some unique exercises that Kathy created on these pieces of apparatus.

Pilates for the Overweight
Knowledge is power. Do you want to work more effectively with overweight and obese students? If so the first step is to educate yourself. Your handout will explore the prevalence of obesity and the health concerns linked to it. You will be guided by a protocol that will support the larger bodied client not just physically but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Unlock the door to your heart and open yourself to this rewarding work.
Discover how your paradigms get in the way of your work, discover the impact of weight distribution on movement, look through the lens of the 4 S’s to guide students toward greater functionality, explore common muscle imbalances in the larger body. You will gain a greater understanding of students challenges and ways to assist them in making movement a part of their daily lives.

Rolling Through the Spine
Joseph Pilates was very clear in his instructions; we need to be able to roll through our spine. But why is it so hard for some people to roll through their spine and what can be done to help? In this workshop we will address some of the issues that prevent your clients from rolling and articulating through their spine. We will address di?erent ways of rolling through the spine as well as specific mobility and strengthening exercises that will have you rolling like never before.

Sacroiliac Central
Pilates instructors undoubtedly have clients with lower back pain and the sacroiliac joint is in that category. Studying the sacroiliac joint, its area, and how the area relates to its neighbors can open doors to doing and teaching Pilates workouts as a system for a whole person and ease the feeling of needing to fix people. Lori will review relevant anatomy and offer creative perspectives for inspiration. She will lead a workout to help people bring the concepts to embodied life.

Cadillac: Advanced Progressions
The advanced Cadillac exercises are very challenging and often not understood. This course breaks down the advanced patterns into the essence of the movement in order to progress from one level to the next. The focus of the course is to understand the depth of the exercise and make the challenge of the movement a progression for every level of fitness.

Gondola Pole: Seated & Standing
This class presents an opportunity with a Pilates tool that is already in the studio. The class will include seated exercises that challenge all skill levels. The standing exercises increase functional balance in vertical and with coordination of movement forward and sideward while moving the pole. These exercises can be adapted for all skill levels. Specific areas targeted are shoulder girdle and arm coordination, the ribcage and abdominals, and spiral movement of the spine. The pole can become an addition within a class, part of a workout, or home exercise.

Postural Assessment for the Pilates Client and Jillian's B.E.A.M Fundamentals
Jillian ?rst learned Postural Assessment from Carola Trier, who always started out a new client with a vertical posture check. Through the years, Jillian has embroidered upon Carola’s original approach, and she s4ll feels this ver4cal assessment is a vital part of introducing a newbie client to Pilates’ foundational concepts, BEFORE they get on the apparatus.
Kathy Grant (Jillian’s ?rst Pilates teacher) introduced the idea of doing “warm-ups” to her in 1981. Jillian has developed her own approach to teaching the pre-pilates concepts. She calls them the B.E.A.M Fundamentals, which stand for: Breathe, Energize, Align, & Move.
